Embroidery

This is the process of sewing a digitised design onto garments. It looks stylish and of high quality, and works really well with jackets, polo shirts, fleece and much more. It’s long lasting, to the extent it normally outlasts the garment onto which it’s applied. The process is often more expensive than printing, especially for large designs, and it’s not always a suitable option for very light materials. There are 2 charges for embroidery: The first is a one-off set-up charge, which covers having the design digitised. The charge applies to each piece of artwork, i.e., if you have your logo embroidered on the front and back of a garment, and the sizes for each one differs, there will be a set-up charge for each different size of the logo. The second charge is a ‘per item’ charge, which applies to each item you have embroidered.

DTG Printing

Direct to Garment print is a method that sees a printer directly apply ink to the garment. A fixing agent is applied to the garments before they go into production to help the colour adhere to them. This means the garments will often need to be washed before the first use to take away the slight smell of the fixing agent. This type of customisation is best for complex logos and multiple colours, typically used for one-off, full colour jobs needed with a fast turnaround. This type of print works particularly well with t-shirts and hoodies.

DTF Printing

Direct to Film is a process that transfers prints onto fabric or other substrates using a heat-press mechanism. Unlike the DTG method, which only works on cotton fabrics, the DTF method can work on cotton and poly blends.

Durability is enhanced by the special water-based ink used, and adhesive. DTF printing is ideal for workwear like overalls, high viz, gym and cycling wear.

Heat Transfer Printing

Certain products or logos are better suited to the transfer printing method. This involves heat pressing cut vinyl onto garments, and suits individual names and numbers, one-off samples, or low volume orders and nylon fabrics such as waterproofs and hi-vis jackets. The transfers sit on top of the garment, giving them a bright and crisp appearance because the base colour of the clothing doesn’t affect the design.
